About Tailsweep

Tailsweep was founded in the beginning of 2007. The founders have extensive experience in online advertising and have worked on several large commercial sites.

The name Tailsweep refers to the theory of "The Long Tail", an expression invented in 2004 by Chris Anderson, Editor-in-Chief at the American publication Wired Magazine. The theory has great importance for Tailsweep. Simply put, the theory is based on the assumption that the total number of visitors on the large amount of small and medium sized sites, are equivalent to the total amount of visitors to the fewer large sites on the Internet today.

The mission statement

The Tailsweep mission statement is to "facilitate the usage of unexploited online ad potential, by connecting advertisers and publishers through an Internet based automated, intuitive and efficient ad space enabling system”.

Increasingly more companies are searching for new ways to interact and communicate with their target group. The Internet has matured as a medium and can offer seamless and cost-effective communication solutions to a wider extent than traditional media.

Blogs and social media are currently looking for ways to earn money on their site traffic, Tailsweep offers them as partners in the network, a fully-automated and transparent system to handle ad publication and statistical delivery, which is of value to both the advertiser and the publisher, i.e. the blog and social media. The advertiser selects his target group from a variety of subject categories and once the blog and social media has approved the requested ad campaign, it initiates according to the specified campaign period and consequently the ad revenues are shared with the Tailsweep partner.
